GTM Engineering
Full-time
Founding GTM
Keenable San Francisco, USAPosted Yesterday
About the role
- Keenable builds AI infrastructure for web search and knowledge access at web scale, developing systems and new retrieval primitives that make the world's growing knowledge accessible to models.
- As the founding GTM hire, you will be the first person a lab's or platform's engineers meet. You will get Keenable running in their stack, prove it on their queries, and turn that proof into paying usage.
- The Head of Revenue owns the revenue number and commercial terms; you own the technical win and the channels that feed it.
- Keenable values trajectory over polish and hires for agency, speed, ownership, and the ability to turn ambiguity into working systems. Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every requirement.
- This is a full-time, hybrid role in San Francisco. The Bay Area is preferred because the founders, labs, and platforms are there, and winning demos are usually built in the customer's office.
- Startup work is intense, ambiguous, and results-oriented. Interviews reflect real work and evaluate how you operate rather than trivia. The team moves quickly when there is mutual excitement.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical win with AI labs and inference platforms. Engage researchers and ML engineers evaluating web search, understand how their agents and models use it, and stay close as their needs change.
- Build demos and integrations inside the customer's own stack, including their agent, evaluation harness, and model tool calls. Demonstrate results on their queries rather than Keenable's.
- Run evaluations and pilots to a verdict: scope benchmarks, maintain timelines, resolve technical objections, and hand the Head of Revenue a proven, sized deal to finalize. Close deals yourself when terms are standard.
- Own the platform channel, including integrations with inference platforms, agent frameworks, and resellers, along with the self-serve funnel that turns channel usage into accounts.
- Bring customer needs back to product and engineering, and turn those insights into demos and materials for future customers.
- Sample project: help a frontier lab's agent team evaluate three web search providers by accessing its internal benchmark, building an integration in its harness, running the evaluation, and turning the result into a pilot with a volume commitment.
- Sample project: build a demo on an inference platform's hosted models, design the integration, and turn its launch of Keenable as a search tool into recurring revenue.
Requirements
- Experience winning technical evaluations in which labs, platforms, or infrastructure teams selected your product based on a benchmark or pilot you ran, supported by measurable results.
- Ability to build demos independently, call an API, connect it to an agent or evaluation, and present results to a researcher without waiting for an engineer.
- Comfort working with research scientists and ML engineers as buyers, discussing latency, recall, freshness, and cost trade-offs, and knowing when to involve Matthias or the team.
- Knowledge of the lab and inference landscape: who trains and serves models, which platforms and frameworks agents run on, and which providers compete for the same queries.
- Commitment to the mission of making the world's knowledge accessible to agents.
Benefits
- Frontier AI infrastructure work with technical depth and scale.
- High autonomy, low process, and real production problems.
- Access to meaningful compute and infrastructure for experimentation.
- Competitive compensation with meaningful early-stage equity.
- A small, high-talent team with direct exposure to frontier customers.
- Premium medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a Health Savings Account (HSA).
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Flexible time off, with trust to manage your time and recharge when needed.
