Head of GTM, Research Services | AI-Native Research (Remote US/EU)

Maze RemotePosted Today

About the role

  • Maze is a user research platform that helps companies build the right products faster by making user insights available at the speed of product development. Researchers, designers, and product managers can recruit participants, run studies autonomously, and surface insights that drive product decisions. AI capabilities automate busywork and add depth and direction to insights.
  • Maze was named the #1 user research platform in UX Tools’ Design Tools Survey. Customers include Uber, Amazon, Atlassian, and Anthropic, across industries including B2B SaaS, e-commerce, financial services, retail, and automotive.
  • Maze is a Series B company backed by Felicis, Emergence, and Amplify, with a global remote workforce and fewer than 150 team members.
  • Maze is launching a Market Research service combining its platform’s scale and speed with expert-led research services—an AI-native alternative to traditional market research agencies.
  • As Head of GTM, Research Services, you will be the founding commercial leader for this new business, working closely with senior leaders. You will report to the COO and partner with the Head of Market Research, who delivers the service as the expert practitioner.
  • You will own go-to-market strategy end to end: designing and running the GTM motion with Product, Sales, and Marketing; engaging new buyers and existing customers; closing deals; and building Maze’s presence in the market research industry.
  • This opportunity suits a builder with deep market research roots, quota ownership experience, personal relationships with industry buyers, and conviction that AI is changing research.
  • Maze reports usage by 100,000+ brands across 4,000 companies, from SMBs to enterprises. In the last fiscal year, 6.5 million questions were answered, supporting 25,000 decisions.
  • The posting title specifies Remote US/EU; structured applicant location requirements list the United Kingdom and United States.

Responsibilities

  • Define and co-own the Market Research service’s GTM strategy, including positioning, packaging, pricing, and target segments.
  • Partner with the Head of Market Research to shape the offering around insights buyers’ needs and the possibilities of an AI-native approach.
  • Establish metrics, forecasts, and an operating cadence for the new business, iterating quickly based on market feedback.
  • Coordinate with the existing sales team to generate qualified pipeline.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing on enablement, playbooks, joint account planning, and outbound plays.
  • Activate your market research network to connect with insights leaders and research buyers.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including scoping, proposals, pricing, negotiation, and closing, involving the Head of Market Research as the practitioner voice.
  • Partner with Marketing to build Maze’s category presence through content, events, communities, and thought leadership.
  • Represent Maze at industry events and in discussions about AI’s impact on research.
  • Turn early customer wins into stories, references, and repeatable demand.
  • Connect Sales, Marketing, Research, and Product, translating market needs into feedback for the service and platform roadmap.
  • Use AI in your daily workflow to do more with less and model that approach for the team.
  • Help shape the team and playbook as the service scales.

Requirements

  • Significant experience growing market research services, insights consulting, or research technology businesses, including ownership of commercial outcomes.
  • A strong network of market research buyers and practitioners that you can activate from day one.
  • Deep market research expertise, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies, study design, and how insights organizations buy and operate.
  • Ideally, management and entrepreneurial experience, such as building a practice, launching an offering, or starting a business.
  • Understanding of how AI can improve every step of research, with existing daily use of AI to increase effectiveness.
  • Ability to thrive in zero-to-one environments, navigate ambiguity, create structure quickly, and own outcomes.
  • Consultative selling skills: selling expertise rather than only software, scoping complex research engagements, and navigating enterprise buying processes.
  • A compelling perspective on research’s future and the ability to engage buyers, analysts, and practitioners.
  • Ability to work across Sales, Marketing, Research, and Product and accomplish goals without formal authority.
  • Bonus: experience launching a new service or product line inside a scaling company.
  • Bonus: published thought leadership or public speaking on AI in market research.
  • Bonus: experience selling both SaaS platforms and agency services.
