GTM Engineer

Zip Remote$150k–$190kPosted Today

About the role

  • Zip is an AI platform for enterprise procurement, orchestrating procurement across teams, tools, and suppliers so humans and AI agents can work together.
  • Customers include T-Mobile, OpenAI, AMD, Mars, and Dollar Tree. Together, Zip customers have saved over $8 billion and processed over $500 billion in spend.
  • Zip’s team includes product leaders from Apple, Airbnb, and Meta and former procurement leaders from United Health, Sanofi, MGM Resorts, Discover, and NASA.
  • Backed by Adams Street, Alkeon, BOND, CRV, DST, Tiger Global, and Y Combinator, Zip has raised $371 million, most recently at a $2.2 billion valuation. Recognition includes Forbes Fintech 50, Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies, Inc. Best in Business, and LinkedIn Top Startups.
  • Join the newly established Business Technology Team as a Go-to-Market Engineer combining GTM operations, hands-on building, and automation architecture. Build the AI and automation powering pipeline generation and sales, making AI part of every rep’s work and measuring success in pipeline and rep time rather than demos.
  • Connect GTM workflows, tools, and data to improve prospecting efficiency and scale across Sales and BDR teams. Focus primarily on the presales motion, from BDR through AE, and build the technical foundation for transformational AI productivity gains rather than incremental 5–10% improvements.
  • Help define a new discipline at Zip with a high degree of autonomy. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing Operations, Business Technology, Internal AI, and Sales Leadership to turn complex business challenges into automated solutions reps adopt.
  • This is a full-time remote role for applicants in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Build the GTM automation engine: design scalable, high-velocity workflows that improve rep efficiency, reduce friction, and accelerate pipeline generation. Use tools such as Clay and n8n for event-based data enrichment, account routing, and personalized outreach at scale.
  • Turn sales goals, such as improving outbound reply rates, into projects you propose, pitch, and build. Participate in planning before decisions are made rather than simply executing requests.
  • Operationalize AI and enrichment: partner with GTM Ops and Business Technology to evaluate and implement tools that improve outbound quality and personalization, using data from Salesforce, Gong, Clay, and other systems.
  • Own workflows from idea through rollout: scope with sales leaders, build, pilot with reps, launch, and iterate based on adoption and impact. Promote adoption within the team.
  • Measure rep time saved, pipeline influenced, and adoption. Adjust or discontinue workflows that do not deliver results.
  • Pilot new tools, integrations, and AI workflows, scaling what works. Understand the vendor landscape and choose to buy rather than build when appropriate.

Requirements

  • At least 4 total years of experience across GTM engineering, sales operations/RevOps, or business systems, ideally in a fast-moving B2B SaaS environment.
  • Preferably 1–2 years as a BDR, SDR, AE, sales engineer, or equivalent, with an understanding of the day-to-day pressure of a pipeline target.
  • Working experience with Salesforce. Hands-on Clay or similar and Gong or Chorus experience is strongly preferred. Experience with n8n, Zapier, or other workflow orchestration tools is a plus.
  • Comfortable building with AI coding tools such as Claude Code and reading enough code and SQL to ship and debug solutions. Understand databases and structured data; data warehouse experience, such as Snowflake, is a plus.
  • Proven ability to learn new systems quickly, apply emerging technologies to traditional business challenges, and connect business needs to systems design and execution.
  • A track record of practical AI and automation for sales teams, including workflows, agents, or tools that reps used and that measurably influenced pipeline or saved rep time.
  • Build maintainable automations for a team that handle edge cases and surface errors. Know when to use an LLM versus deterministic logic, with experience shipping both.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including clearly structured thinking, concise memos, and confident executive presentations.
  • A strong bias for action, low ego, and an ownership mindset. Thrive in uncharted territory and move quickly to create clarity.
  • Zip values ownership, open communication, an underdog mindset, and enthusiasm for increasing the pace of innovation. Candidates are encouraged to apply even if their experience does not exactly match the description. Zip is committed to a diverse, inclusive workplace where everyone feels they belong regardless of age, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and more.
