About the role

  • SketchPro is building the first AI architect: an AI copilot for architects and engineers that accelerates construction documentation. The company works with leading architecture firms to streamline production and deliver high-quality documentation.
  • As SketchPro's first marketer, you will find and tell stories about how firms use the product.
  • SketchPro runs inside Revit and serves expert users. You will learn from in-house architects and customers about real projects, then turn those insights into stories, videos, and launches for architects and firm leaders.
  • You will write, edit, and ship the work yourself, using AI tools for most production.
  • This role works in person in San Francisco with architects and engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Interview customers and in-house architects to understand what project teams were trying to accomplish, what was difficult, and what changed.
  • Turn those stories into LinkedIn posts, videos, demos, launch announcements, and blog posts.
  • Create case studies, before-and-after examples, and technical deep dives.
  • Ground claims in evidence from real projects and customers, and edit and fact-check work before publishing.
  • Explain what SketchPro does and which problems it solves. Adapt messaging for different firm sizes and roles, including production staff, BIM managers, and principals.
  • Keep website copy current as the product changes, and refine messaging using insights from customer calls and pilots.
  • Tell the story of each product release, explaining what changed and why it matters to architects.
  • Plan and ship launches, including messaging, content, distribution, and follow-up.
  • Distribute work through LinkedIn, search and AI answer engines, email, PR, and referrals.
  • Plan the company's presence at industry events, and host roundtables and dinners for firm leaders.
  • Track how stories and channels contribute to demos and pilots, and use those insights to prioritize your time.
  • Create pilot materials and decks with Forward Deployed Architects to help people make the case for SketchPro within their firms.

What success looks like

  • Stories help architects explain SketchPro to others at their firms.
  • Launches show architects what changed and generate requests for demos and pilots.
  • Case studies and customer stories help firms evaluate SketchPro during sales conversations and pilots.
  • The team understands which stories and channels bring in demos and pilots.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of B2B marketing experience at early-stage startups.
  • A portfolio of stories, content, campaigns, or launches you made yourself, with a clear explanation of your contribution.
  • Clear writing and the ability to edit your own work.
  • Ability to ask experts thoughtful questions and turn their answers into stories others can follow.
  • Use of AI tools for most production, with the judgment to recognize when output needs improvement.
  • Ability to decide what to work on next without a marketing team around you.
  • Strong storytelling and writing come first, alongside comfort distributing work and learning what attracts prospective customers.

Nice to have

  • Experience as an early or first marketing hire.
  • Experience marketing a technical product to expert buyers.
  • Experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or design software, including Revit; this is not required.
  • Video editing experience or comfort on camera.
  • A newsletter, channel, community, or side project you built yourself.
  • Experience with automation or no-code tools.

Hiring process

  • Work samples carry more weight than resumes.
  • Expect to walk through work you have made and work on a real SketchPro feature with an in-house architect.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to shape how buildings are designed and built.
  • Join a fast-growing, venture-backed team supported by Khosla Ventures, Neo, and leaders from OpenAI, Ramp, Harvey, Brex, and more.
  • Competitive equity.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Expensed lunch and dinner five times per week in the San Francisco office.
  • Health and wellness stipend.
