GTM Strategist, Inbound

Cartesia San Francisco, United States$115k–$125kPosted Today

About the role

  • Cartesia's mission is to architect AI that learns from and interacts with the world like humans do. Its founders met as PhDs at the Stanford AI Lab, where they invented State Space Models (SSMs), a primitive for training efficient, large-scale foundation models. The team combines model innovation, systems engineering, and design-minded product engineering.
  • Cartesia is backed by Index Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Factory, Conviction, A Star, General Catalyst, SV Angel, Databricks, and others, with support from advisors and more than 90 angel investors.
  • As Cartesia builds real-time audio intelligence and inbound demand grows, the Inbound GTM Strategist will own the inbound motion in a role similar to an Inbound SDR or BDR.
  • As the first person focused fully on inbound, you will be the first conversation for developers, startups, and enterprises reaching out. You will guide each prospect to the right next step and help establish lead qualification, routing, and handoffs to account executives. Client-facing experience is required; a tech sales background is a plus.
  • This is an in-person role in San Francisco. Cartesia also has offices in London and Bangalore and values working and learning together in the office.
  • The team prioritizes fast execution on novel work without sacrificing quality or design, and maintains an open, inclusive culture focused on providing resources for everyone to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Hit a quarterly target for qualified meetings sourced across inbound channels, including demo requests, product signups, events, and campaigns.
  • Respond to inbound requests and high-intent signups within minutes, and get every lead to a clear next step the same day.
  • Run discovery calls to understand what prospects are building, where voice fits in, and what is driving urgency.
  • Qualify prospects on use case, scale, timeline, and technical fit. Route them to an AE with full context and next steps booked, or to self-serve, partnerships, or nurture paths.
  • Identify high-potential accounts in product usage data and proactively reach out. Partner with Growth on event, webinar, and campaign follow-up.
  • Own the inbound process end to end, including qualification, routing, and CRM hygiene. Share prospect insights with GTM and Product leadership.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years of client-facing experience in sales development or a role building similar skills, such as customer success, account management, client service in consulting, banking or VC, or agency-side recruiting.
  • A track record of exceptional effort, demonstrated through exceeding targets, high-level competition in sports or academics, or building a side project.
  • Persistence and follow-through: chase down answers, ask direct questions on calls, and write follow-ups that get replies.
  • A high-velocity work style, with the ability to manage a packed day and dozens of simultaneous conversations while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Resourcefulness without a playbook and genuine curiosity about AI and how developers build with it.
  • Bachelor's degree with strong academic performance.
  • Preferred: prior SDR, BDR, or inbound sales experience.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, Clay, or similar tools.
  • Preferred: familiarity with voice AI, conversational AI, or developer platforms.

Benefits

  • Visa sponsorship support is assessed case by case and depends on factors including role and location; success is not guaranteed. Your recruiter will discuss sponsorship needs from the first call.
  • The following benefits apply to US employees only.
  • Attractive equity package.
  • Fully covered medical insurance, along with dental and vision coverage, for you and your family.
  • Nine weeks of paternity leave and 12 weeks of maternity leave.
  • 401(k).
  • Monthly commuter stipend.
  • Flexible PTO to take the time you need to recharge.
  • Lunch, dinner, and snacks provided daily.
  • Your own personal Yoshi.
